Trails Closed October 14th, 2011 - Thanks for a great season! -
Read our Guidelines here and as of August 24, 2010 the following Town Roads have been signed and open to responsible ATV use.
Trail Report - August 8, 2011
Our trail signs continue to disappear in certain locations. Under RSA 215-A:33, it is a misdemeanor to willfully remove or deface any of our signs. The NH Trails Bureau spends about $28,000 annually on signs. The biggest issues would be the possible injury of riders or the closure of trails because a sign being taken. Sign tampering is something we take very seriously and actively encourage law enforcement action on.
The Shatney Mountain Trail from #73 to #80 (snowmobile trails 20 and 146) has been rebuilt, with culverts installed in water bars, trail widened and leveled, to provide better access to the village and services on Main Street.
Pittsburg Selectmen have allowed ATV use of additional town roads for trail access: River Road, Danforth Road, Kingfield Road, Spooner Road, Cheesefactory Road, Town Farm Road, Dalton Road, Sugar Camp Acres Road, and Main Street from Robie's Cabins to Back Lake Road. A trail has been cut across the Lord and Dion properties to provide access from Cheesefactory Road to Main Street. Roads have been signed and are now open for use. Please stay on designated routes and follow posted regulations. A great deal of effort to provide this access can quickly be ruined by a few careless riders.
The Last day to ride the trails is October 14th ~ ATV trails will close at dusk on Friday, October 14, 2011, and will reopen on Friday, May 25, 2012, weather permitting.
